An evil that came to good

A few months ago I was at the psychologist. I'm doing cognitive therapy now. I'm really enjoying it, being very practical and direct. Defining my goals and dysfunctional situations that occur in my daily life.

Anyway, I was in an Uber ride to my house, after the therapy, and when I got out of the car I did not notice that the tip of my walking stick had stayed in the car. I only noticed it when I was already home. I tried to contact the driver and I could not.

However, I believe it ended up being the little push I needed to stop using the stick. I believe that if it were up to me I would not take the initiative not to use it anymore. Once I lost his beak it became more dangerous to walk with it than without since the tip had become very thin and slippery.

I have discovered that it was actually more psychological support than a physical one. Now I go everywhere without it. At first, I was insecure but nw I feel much better. Almost no one stares at me in places as they did when I used the walking stick- now I only need my body to move.

"I'm slowly discovering that I can do much more than I think. Loosing the beak of my walking stick was na event that forced me to take the risk and showed me that if I do not take the first step I will never find out what I am capable of. ”
"This Uber driver has no idea the favor he made me"
