Finally home!

Atualizado: 12 de jul. de 2018

The accident ocurred in a Sunday morning in the Tancredo Neves Avenue next to the Sumaré Mall. A little after the accident occured I was taken to the GSH. Now I know that the success of my recuperation was due to the speed and effectiveness that the SAMU team had when in getting me out of the scene of the accident and into the General State Hospital. My mother made a poster thanking the SAMU and the GSH and placed it in front of the emergency mobile service and the General State Hospital headquarters. I stayed in the GSH for 12 hours and as soon as it was possible I was transferred to the Intensive Unit Therapy (ITU) of the Aliança Hospital. When the doctors decided that they could withdraw sedation I went to the Semi-UTI.

Fifteen days later I got discharged and went home still in coma in home care sistem. I usually say that at that time my home began to be the hospital. My room had a hospital stretcher, saline and nurses. At that moment, still in coma, I began physiotherapy. I opened my eyes, sometimes followed people with my eyes but, didn’t interact…

Cellphone notes:
“March 10th of 2015 I made an unthought choice that had consequences I´d never imagine. Unfortunately I can not erase what has happened to me where I have had untold losses. I cannot go back in time… Now I can only continue to write my story seeking to find beauty and joy in my days
“The gravity of this accident had to me. My reasoning, my walk, the time I loss, the descrimination I might suffer. How will I co-monitor my livelihood in the labour market?“
